The current political moment is a dangerous and terrifying one for trans people and their loved ones, as harmful anti-trans rhetoric and legislation escalate across the country. Come expand your understanding of what it means to be trans and nonbinary, learn how to tell fact from fiction, and find out how to help create safety for trans people and their families in this moment.

No matter who you are or how much or how little you know about gender diversity, this interactive and informative workshop will expand your mind, open your heart, and give all who attend the tools needed to deepen welcoming and care for people of all genders in all communities.

Join us for Gloucester’s 2nd Annual Women's Equality Day Celebration on Monday, August 26, 2024, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at the Gloucester City Hall Auditorium. The event will feature proclamations from Mayor Greg Verga and the City Council, a panel discussion with four inspirational women leaders, and recognition of local women leaders and mentors, including Cape Ann Pride’s own Jai Fields!

Enjoy break-out discussions and engage with various community services including voter registration, the Human Rights Commission, and more! All are welcome and the event is free to the public.

In partnership with the Cape Ann Pride Coalition and Younity, and thanks to a grant from Awesome Gloucester and other donations, Gloucester’s Schooner Adventure is happy to offer a FREE, private “teen sail” event to close out Pride Month for LGBTQIA+ youth and their Allies, ages 13-18. (Adventure’s crew and other adults will be chaperoning; permission slips required for ages 13-17; food and drink will be provided.)

Good Witches and Bad Witches alike! Join us in celebration of #CapeAnnPride month for a brief family-friendly examination of the Queer history of the popular ABC sitcom “Bewitched” and its cast, including the 1991 coming out of actor Dick Sargent and the pride activism of Sargent and the show’s star Elizabeth Montgomery, followed by a free screening of “Darrin on a Pedestal,” a 1970 episode of the program shot on location in Gloucester and at Hammond Castle Museum.

Join Gloucester Stage in celebrating PRIDE Month this June 14th. Gloucester Stage is collaborating with North Shore Pride and Cape Ann Pride to offer a discount and donate $5 from every ticket purchased to our local Pride Organizations for the Friday, June 14th @ 8:00pm performance of Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike.

This #CapeAnnPride Month, join members of the community in celebrating Gloucester’s important and often overlooked role in transforming Queer culture and the arts, locally, regionally, and nationally.

With readings by community members from works by CharlesOlson, John Wieners, Robert Duncan, Gerrit Lansing, Daisy Alden, and many others, including, for the first time, newly unearthed poems by John Hays Hammond Jr. himself.
The evening will culminate in a reading of a unique illuminated version of “Abbadia Mare,” a poem written by Gerrit Lansing in the Museum’s Guest Book in 1959 about the building and personally dedicated to Hammond.
